WELCOME TO THE TEAM Our story began in 2008 as a joint venture between Nexans and Al Mirqab Capital, fully managed by Nexans. We have contributed to many of Qatar’s most ambitious projects for well-known customers such as Kahramaa, Qatar Rail, QatarEnergy, Qatar Foundation, and many others. Our plant is among the most advanced Nexans factories in the Middle East and North Africa region. As a worldwide leader in cabling solutions, Nexans has transferred its technology and expertise to QICC, which is proud to contribute to the rapid development of Qatar’s economy in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030. To support the maintenance and operations of our plant, we are looking for a qualified and dependable Carpenter . GETTING TO KNOW YOUR ROLE The Carpenter will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and modifying wooden cable drums and other carpentry-related items required for plant operations. The role must be performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards and operational requirements. MAKING AN IMPACT Know, understand, and consistently apply all safety rules related to the role. Inspect wooden cable drums and identify any damage or repair requirements. Repair, maintain, and modify wooden drums according to operational and quality requirements. Carry out general carpentry work as required within the factory and company facilities. Use carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment safely and correctly. Ensure completed work meets the required quality and safety standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Report any incident, unsafe condition, equipment defect, or operational concern immediately to the direct supervisor. Minimize material waste and use company resources responsibly. Attend SQDCE meetings and actively contribute to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement discussions. Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE JOB Relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry is preferred. Previous experience as a carpenter, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or maintenance environment. Practical experience in repairing wooden cable drums is an advantage. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery safely. Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements. Ability to understand work instructions, measurements, and basic technical drawings. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physically fit and capable of safely performing manual tasks. Dependable, disciplined, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts when operationally required. Basic communication skills in English are preferred. WHY WORK WITH US?
