The Impact You'll Make You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of medium-voltage drives and power conversion technologies that support a more sustainable and electrified future. Based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina , you will transform advanced power electronics and control concepts into reliable, high-performance solutions used in critical applications worldwide. As part of a collaborative global R&D team, you will influence product innovation from concept to deployment while helping develop technologies that power industries for generations to come. What You’ll Be Doing Lead the design and development of power converter control systems , guiding projects from early concept through product implementation and customer application. Define requirements, develop control architectures and algorithms , and validate performance through simulation, testing, and analysis. Model and simulate power electronic systems using Software-In-The-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) environments to ensure robust and reliable operation. Partner closely with hardware, test, and validation teams to deliver high-quality products on time while continuously improving system performance and functionality. Support products throughout their lifecycle by troubleshooting technical challenges, implementing enhancements, staying current with emerging technologies, and mentoring junior engineers and students. What We're Looking For Advanced degree ( Master’s or PhD ) in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with extensive experience in power electronics product development . Strong expertise in the control of power converter systems and extensive experience with PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, SIL, and HIL development environments. Solid understanding of AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion technologies . Experience with medium-voltage converter topologies and SiC-based solutions is an advantage.Experience reading and programming C and C++ , along with strong troubleshooting skills using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems. Ability to thrive in global, cross-functional teams. Knowledge of grid codes, grid-supporting converter functions, model-based design , or applications in data centers, power generation, and marine systems is a plus.
