About the Role As Commercial Lead - Corporate and Professional Services , you’ll play a key role within Origin’s Procurement team, driving category management and unlocking commercial value across our procurement spend.You’ll lead the development and delivery of category strategies, sourcing activities and supplier engagements, providing strategic commercial advice to stakeholders across the business. You’ll use your commercial expertise and market insights to identify opportunities, manage risk, negotiate strong outcomes and build effective supplier relationships.This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to influence how Origin manages its procurement and supplier relationships, while supporting continuous improvement and delivering long-term value. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of category strategies, sourcing plans and supplier engagement activities across your portfolio. Analyse spend, supply markets, pricing and cost structures to identify opportunities for value creation and cost reduction. Lead complex supplier negotiations and contracting activities, balancing commercial outcomes, risk and business requirements. Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to influence decisions and deliver effective procurement outcomes. Provide commercial advice across procurement, contracts, risk, governance and supplier management. Support contract owners with post-award escalations, disputes, variations and ongoing supplier performance. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, ways of working and commercial outcomes across Origin. About You Demonstrated experience in procurement, commercial or category management, ideally across Corporate and Professional Services. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess complex arrangements, identify risks and uncover opportunities to create value. Proven negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve strong outcomes while maintaining effective relationships. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear and practical advice. Experience working across a complex, matrixed organisation and engaging confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Strong understanding of procurement, contract management, governance and the Australian regulatory environment. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
