Position Overview As Sales Director, you will lead sales strategy and team execution for the Virginia business unit, supporting growth across aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and construction services. This role is ideal for a relationship-focused sales leader who enjoys identifying new opportunities, building strong customer partnerships, and helping a team deliver results. You will play a key role in developing new accounts, supporting key customer relationships, and driving profitable growth through strong market knowledge, collaboration, and leadership. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Help shape and execute the strategic plan for the Virginia business unit. Develop and guide sales policies, practices, and expectations that support company goals and team success. Partner with operations and production teams to help ensure customers receive the quality, quantity, and service they expect. Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of sales team members. Create clear, meaningful development plans that help team members grow in their roles. Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities. Lead forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities that support effective business planning. Stay informed on construction activity across the territory and use market insight to identify growth opportunities. Understand product specifications and recommend opportunities that create value for customers and the business. Identify and communicate issues that could affect product availability or customer commitments. Represent the Virginia business unit through industry committees, associations, and community relationships. Monitor market and competitor activity and recommend actions that help the business remain competitive. Build trusted customer relationships by delivering quality products, dependable service, and strong overall value. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Associate degree or equivalent education from a two-year college or technical school is preferred. We will also consider candidates with two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with customers and employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
