PROOF OF EDUCATION: A COPY OF DIPLOMA/CERIFICATE Position Title: General Magistrate Assistant Department: General Magistrates Annual Salary: $42,660.96 Position: 011094 SUMMARY: Perform a variety of secretarial and administrative functions, sometimes of a confidential nature, for a General Magistrate serving in the Family Law Division. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• EXPERIENCE: Two years of related work experience.
• EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED and two years of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operations, or a closely related field.
• SUBSTITUTION: Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year for-year basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Answer and direct phone calls. Communicate with attorneys and pro se litigants regarding court procedures. Open, sort and distribute mail.
• Handle the coordination and scheduling of post-judgment Family Law hearings, excluding Title IV-D child support issues.
• Maintain filing and calendaring systems for the General Magistrate.
• Prepare correspondence, memoranda, travel requests, etc. for submission and approval.
• Upload recommended orders to JAWS for the Uniform Family Court Judge’s signature.
• Compile monthly hearing data, prepare and submit child support hearing officer monthly Uniform Data Reporting to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
• Maintain the dockets, notes and recusal list for the General Magistrate. Order office supplies.

• Knowledge of and ability to use Word application.
• Knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to interact effectively with the general public.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to establish work priorities.
• Incumbent must be professional in all regards.
