You will play a significant role among a group of engineers and technicians in the development and certification of the next generation of gas turbine engines with ownership in the Large Altitude Chamber test facility. Our overarching mission is to ensure that our customers obtain the data they need the first time. We develop, own and maintain the facilities and test processes that enable the development, certification and long-term support of the entirety of the E&PS product families.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains and improves the Dyno Room test facility in a way that ensures the cell is ready to execute tests for the current and future Honeywell product lines • Provides constructive feedback on test plans and test approaches • Models Safety, HOS, Behaviors and Continuous Improvement • Applies knowledge of complex mechanical products test methods to learn engine and facility systems and test equipment • Supports team in establishing solutions to meet requirements for innovative test solutions for new and existing products

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Work Schedule: M-F; 1st shift (shifts may changed depending on the test under execution)

YOU MUST HAVE:

• High School Diploma or GED • 2 years of directly related experience as a Gas Turbine Engine or Rig Test Technician or 5 years of experience testing complex mechanical systems. • The ability to work off-shift regularly (once sufficiently trained) – This is position is primarily 1st shift – However shifts may change depending on the test under execution. • The ability to work in a lab environment, occasionally lifting (up to 35 lb.) and working with large mechanical test equipment and systems including powered industrial vehicles • The ability to work outdoors • The ability to work occasional overtime (20% is not unusual) • The ability to travel occasionally (<10%) • Direct experience executing complex and/or unique gas turbine engine tests independently • Direct experience leading change efforts that benefit the team and other test stakeholders while improving teamwork • Direct experience leading safety initiatives and data-driven continuous improvement • Strong troubleshooting skills with complex, integrated mechanical systems with emphasis on driving the team to identify root cause as well as contributing causes – and playing a lead role in recommending and implementing corrective actions • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work independently – toward achieving team, project and organization vision • Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions in the face of ambiguous and complex situations • Relevant advanced education (or equivalent military experience) supporting work being done in at Engines & Power Systems (i.e. A&P school/license) U.S PERSON REQUIREMENT Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.​ BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR HONEYWELL AEROSPACE Beyond a performance-driven salary, you'll work alongside dedicated experts on technology that's advancing aviation.
