• Comply with all role-specific safety, health, environment and quality obligations.

• Deliver structural analysis and design for power and energy projects, particularly high-voltage substations, renewable energy connections, utilities and industrial HV facilities.
• Design and assess substation GIS buildings and associated structures, including control buildings, switchrooms, equipment support structures, gantries, support structures, foundations and other civil/structural assets.
• Undertake structural design for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and foundation systems
• Contribute to the design and assessment of transmission line structures and foundations where project needs and candidate experience align.
• Interpret client briefs, technical specifications, geotechnical information and project design criteria, and identify structural constraints, assumptions, interfaces and risks.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, specifications, drawings, schedules, technical notes and construction documentation.
• Use appropriate structural analysis and design software, applying sound engineering judgement to independently verify model inputs, assumptions and outputs.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, architectural, mechanical and drafting teams to resolve interfaces and deliver integrated outcomes.
• Provide support during tender, detailed design, fabrication and construction, including responses to technical queries and review of contractor or vendor information.
• Plan and manage assigned scope, program, budget, quality and technical risk across multiple concurrent projects.
• Undertake technical reviews and quality checks in accordance with project requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain effective working relationships with Australian and Manila project teams, clients and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous.
What we will love about you:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Approximately 8+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably within a consulting or design environment.
• Experience delivering work to Australian requirements is strongly preferred.
• Professional engineering registration is desirable.
• Strong experience in structural analysis, design and design documentation for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Demonstrated building design experience, preferably including industrial buildings, modular buildings or similar utility facilities.
• Experience with foundations and support structures for substation equipment, gantries or related electrical infrastructure.
• Previous experience on substations, switchyards, transmission and distribution projects, renewable energy facilities, battery energy storage systems or other HV infrastructure is desirable.
• Experience with transmission line towers, poles, cross-arms or their foundations is desirable but not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Australian design standards and National Construction Code is desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in one or more structural analysis and design tools such as SpaceGass, ETABS, Strand7, STAAD.Pro (desirable), RAPT, SAFE, IDEA StatiCa or equivalent, together with engineering calculation tools and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to develop, interrogate and review structural models rather than relying solely on software-generated results.
• Ability to prepare clear calculations, reports, specifications and design mark-ups in professional English.
• Effective coordination, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with relevant Australian requirements, including the NCC, AS/NZS 1170 series, AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 2159 and AS 2067.
• Familiarity with AS/NZS 7000 is desirable where the role involves transmission line structures.
• Can identify and apply the current project-nominated standards, amendments and client requirements applicable to the assigned scope.
