Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Hours: 8:30pm-7am; variable hours (4-10 hour shifts) rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift • Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday • Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
• Perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing as needed. • Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Required Knowledge:
• General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers. Must have knowledge of QA and QC. Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
Required Experience:
• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
Special Requirements:
• Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. • Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. • Keyboard skills are important. • Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. • Must work overtime or other shifts if required. • Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
• The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. • Frequent walking and/or standing. • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
