The Quality Engineer will exhibit genuine interest in solving work problems through proactively asking questions, clearly communicating and collaborating both internally and externally to grow the business. In addition, the Quality Engineer is responsible for understanding our competition and customers and showing initiative to learn and continuously improve company processes.
Quality Engineer serves as an internal and external quality professional, managing and solving quality issues to ensure consistent high-value company products and installation.
• Lead Quality Assurance Programs to measure the probability of failures based upon opportunities for defects and the production and supply levels for the company manufactured hardware. Manage data collection and analysis of suppliers, internal and field issues. • Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that result in improved corporate quality performance, increased customer satisfaction and support quality value engineering initiatives. • Lead Continuous Process Improvement activities throughout the organization. Manage creation of action plans within those groups to correct the issues, follow up, and track the identification of corrective actions and lessons learned. • Manage ISO 9001 compliance for the business. Oversee the internal and external audit programs. Communicate and action non-conformances, findings, and observations with the responsible organizations. • Lead Supplier Development Program to ensure right Quality, right time, and right price parts through focused continuous improvement efforts, which include visiting suppliers for audits. • Coordinate communication of quality issues across all areas of the company • Stay cognizant of current and future trends in Quality and Process Improvement in the industry and adapt to the company as necessary. • Conduct and organize training of employees on ISO 9001, statistical techniques, problem solving, and quality awareness. • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required. • Follow all company quality policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in related technical field • Five or more years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent • Proven teamwork and leadership ability KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Certified quality engineer preferred. • Quality auditor certification is a plus. • Greenbelt Six Sigma certification is a plus. • Experience working in ISO 9001 Quality standard. • Knowledge and experience in ATEX/IECEx environment strongly required (ISO IEC 80079-34) • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks. • Detail orientated. • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Could effectively interface with suppliers, co-workers, customers, and regulatory agencies. • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Understanding and use of computers and programs to collect, display, analyze and disseminate information. Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Good language skills in English (speech and writing)
