Job Description

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is seeking to appoint a casual academic staff member to support the delivery of D18BT Building Services for the January semester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, assessment, and student support for the course, ensuring an engaging and high-quality learning experience in line with Heriot-Watt University's academic standards.

The role will be based at the University's campus in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Programmes are delivered in English and therefore fluency in English is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver D18BT Building Services in accordance with the academic standards, requirements, and expectations of the University.

• Undertake teaching and assessment duties with classes that might have to be conducted on weekends.

• Guidance and support for students, including providing additional assistance where necessary.

• Liaise with the global course leader to ensure alignment and consistency in course delivery.

• Preparation for all tutoring activities.

• Marking of examination papers and the completion of all related administrative duties, in compliance with the policies, procedures, and requirements of the University.

• Master in Built Environment or Engineering Field

Desirable

• PhD in Built Environment or Engineering Field

Experience Essential

• At least 1 year of teaching experience and/or relevant industry experience

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply

Desirable

• More than 5 years of teaching experience and/or relevant industry experience

Competencies, Skills & Knowledge Essential

• Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to develop creative written and video content for effective communication and information delivery
