About this role
The Security Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Security Department, ensuring the safety and security of all guests, employees, and company assets.
• Determine manpower requirements and schedule personnel to provide optimal security coverage with minimal labor costs.
• Maintain and update the list of evicted guests.
• Administer training programs for assigned personnel to ensure effective security for gaming and money handling.
• Counsel, guide, and instruct personnel on the proper performance of their duties.
• Handle hiring, training, skill development, performance reviews, and discipline of employees.
• Prepare and coordinate the annual budget, including monitoring facilities and expenses.
• Cooperate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on mutual concerns.
• Perform duties such as interviewing, training, selecting, and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work.
• Direct the work of employees, maintain production, and appraise employees’ productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other changes.
• Handle employees’ grievances and complaints, discipline employees, plan work, ensure safety and security, and monitor or implement legal compliance matters.

• High school diploma required; College degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement and/or casino security experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, oral, and written skills.
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
• Ability to obtain a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.
• Able to walk, work, and stand both inside and outside, occasionally in extreme heat (over 115 degrees) or cold (below 10 degrees).
• Able to physically restrain adults over 200 pounds.
• Respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on an as-needed basis.
• Able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads, and maneuver quickly on level surfaces and up and down stairs.
• Lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Push or pull up to 150 pounds.
• Respond to visual and aural cues.
• See and remember specific details of incidents and persons.
• Make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.
• Tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.

Salary Range: $65,000-75,000
