• In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with research or laboratory functions associated with various disciplines. Job Description: Many educators in the growing K-12 classical education movement identify character formation as one of their primary educational goals. But how do they understand the nature of this goal, and how do they attempt to achieve their character formation aims? This research project takes up these questions through qualitative inquiry combined with philosophical analysis. Research assistants will help with gathering and organizing data related to character education from classical school websites and other online and print sources. This data-gathering project will contribute to the evidence base for my book project on character formation in classical schools.

Identify up-to-date lists of classical schools in the United States.

Compile basic info about each school (name, leadership, website, location, type of school, demographic information as available, etc.).

Identify what virtues are emphasized or mentioned in the online school materials, make note of any other language or information relevant to character education, and organize this data in an accessible format.
