Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly.
Providence Hall is accepting applications for a part-time (up to 20 hours per week) Food Services Floater to join our team. This position rotates between our Elementary, Junior High, and High School campuses based on daily need, supporting kitchen and cafeteria operations at each site.
Schedule:
• Monday through Friday on school days, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week
• Shifts fall between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM and may be adjusted based on need
• Campus assignment varies day to day and may change with short notice based on staffing needs
• Department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings, and meetings
Responsibilities:
• Work at any of the three campuses as assigned, adapting to each kitchen's setup, staff, and routines.
• Monitor students during breakfast and/or lunch.
• Use the school's positive behavior intervention system to reward students.
• Assist with food preparation, including portioning, plating, and basic prep work under kitchen staff direction.
• Serve meals to students in accordance with posted menus and portion guidelines.
• Perform general kitchen tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.
• Wipe and clean tables. Sweep under tables.
• Assist students during meal times with items needing to be opened.
• Assist with breaking down the cafeteria tables.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the food services department and school in general.
• Maintain effective communication channels to ensure a collaborative school community.
• Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to travel between campuses as assigned.
• Flexibility to work at different sites and with different teams, sometimes with little advance notice.
• Possess an even temper and good work ethic.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask easily.
• Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
• Willing to problem-solve effectively as needed.
• Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
• Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
• Work in a loud, noisy environment around many youth.
• Obtain a Food Handler's permit within 2 weeks of starting work.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
