We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a permanent full time Head of Learning Area in our Years 1-8 (Year level to be determined), based on either our Senior or Junior Campus starting 28 January 2027.

Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of over 2,000 students. Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako.

About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding educator and relational leader to join our Primary or Middle Years team as a Head of Learning Area. This leadership role combines excellent classroom teaching with responsibility for leading a year-level team, fostering high-quality teaching and learning, supporting student wellbeing, and building a thriving team culture. The role carries 2 Permanent Management Units.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and supporting high-quality, research-informed teaching practice across your learning area.

• Monitoring student progress and achievement and guiding responsive teaching approaches that improve learner outcomes.

• Coaching, mentoring and developing teacher capability within your team.

• Supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, discipleship and engagement.

• Building strong partnerships with parents and whānau and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.

• Championing KingsWay's Christian Special Character, vision and values in all aspects of school life.
