UTHealth Houston is seeking a Patient Transporter to safely transport patients between departments at 6410 Fannin Street and 6414 Fannin Street during regular business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). In this role, you will assist with patient movement using wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate has at least six months of experience in patient transport, patient movement, or a healthcare setting and is committed to providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment. Position Summary: Responsible for greeting patients and family members, identifying providers the patient will see, transports and escorts patients to and from their mode of arrival to their appointment. Position Key Accountabilities:

• Transports visitors and patients to campus locations as needed. • Provides assistance to patients, their families, and visitors entering the clinic with a positive and helpful attitude. • Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation as needed. Greets and introduces self to patients. • Identify provider and/or Division the patient will be seen in and escorts or provides directions. • Safely assists with patient transfer to wheelchairs or other assistive devices. • Maintains work area with a focus on cleanliness, organization and adequate stock levels. • Reports malfunctioning transportation equipment to appropriate service department. • Communicates with administrative and clinical staff as needed to facilitate patient appointment. • Performs other duties as assigned.

• None Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) preferredMinimum Experience: None required Experience in a clinic or medical office preferredPhysical Requirements: Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive: This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094.
