This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to hospital policies and standards. **Responsibilities:** - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on the 7 West Medical Surgical Unit during nightshift hours, ensuring safety and comfort. - Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document changes in patient conditions accurately and timely. - Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines. - Collaborate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote health and recovery. - Respond promptly to patient emergencies and provide appropriate interventions following hospital policies. - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. - Mentor and support junior nursing staff and assist in orienting new team members as needed. - Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure compliance with all hospital and regulatory requirements. Work Experience **Job Title:** Clinical Nurse II **Location:** 7 West Medical Surgical Unit, UM BWMC, Glen Burnie, Maryland **Job Type:** Full Time **Job Requirements:** - **Licensure & Certification:** - Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. - **Experience:** - Minimum of 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical unit or similar acute care setting. - Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions. - **Skills:** - Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to manage complex patient situations. - Ability to administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. - Skilled in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation systems. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures. - **Additional Requirements:** - Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. - Physical ability to perform nursing duties, including lifting, standing, and moving patients as required.
