The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. **Responsibilities:** - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on the 7 West Medical Surgical Unit in accordance with established standards and protocols. - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. - Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and intervene appropriately. - Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, adhering to hospital policies and procedures. - Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. - Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and clinical observations. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. - Adhere to infection control standards and promote patient safety at all times. - Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced nursing staff as needed. Work Experience **Job Title:** Clinical Nurse II **Location:** 7 West Medical Surgical Unit, UM BWMC, Glen Burnie, Maryland **Employment Type:** Full Time **Job Requirements:** - **Licensure & Certification:** - Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. - **Experience:** - Minimum of 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical unit or similar acute care setting. - Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions. - **Skills:** - Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to manage complex patient care situations. - Ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and staff. - Competency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation and use of clinical technology. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - **Additional Requirements:** - Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. - Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
