The Chief Medical Executive (CME) is a key member of the Hospital’s Senior Administrative Team with primary activities in medical staff relations, quality of care, patient safety, care continuity, patient experience, and Division/system leadership. This role reports directly to the Division Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Nurse Executive (CNE), local and Sutter System Quality Team and the Division Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure the delivery of accessible patient-centered, high-quality, safe and equitable care. The CME plays a vital role in care integration and aligning local initiatives with Division and System strategies. Job Description: The Division VP, CME for Sutter Amador Hospital:

• Provides strategic physician leadership to advance patient safety, quality, clinical excellence, and physician engagement across the organization. • Partners with hospital, division, and system leaders to drive quality improvement initiatives, enhance patient outcomes, optimize access and throughput, and ensure a patient-centered care experience. • Serves as a trusted liaison between medical staff and administration, fostering collaborative relationships, mentoring physician and APC leaders, supporting succession planning, and promoting alignment with organizational goals and values. • Leads efforts related to quality performance, service line development, clinical operations, physician contracting, and the implementation of best practices across the continuum of care. • Oversees the monitoring and reporting of clinical, operational, and quality metrics to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. • Participates in medical staff governance, regulatory and accreditation activities, and, where applicable, Graduate Medical Education programs. • Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and exceptional patient care while ensuring compliance with regulatory and privacy standards.

Education/Certification/Licensure Required:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). • Eligible for California physician licensure.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Business, Medical Management, Public Health, or a related field. • Board Certified or Board eligible.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Pay Range is $206,500.00 to $279,450.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
