Job Title: Mobile Phlebotomist (Brooklyn/Queens)Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team, covering the Brooklyn and Queens areas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent phlebotomy experience, be proficient with both butterfly and straight needles, and have strong communication skills. This role requires a reliable individual who is punctual and able to float across locations in the Bronx with their own vehicle. Responsibilities • Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately. • Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data. • Decontaminate equipment and update patient information. • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. • Clearly explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients. • Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles. • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. • Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct. • Package specimens for transport. • Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in the appropriate collection containers. • Follow procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2 years' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. • Proficiency with butterfly and straight needles. • Strong communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with the geriatric population is a plus. • Reliable transportation is required. Work EnvironmentThe position involves covering various locations in Brooklyn and Queens, with the responsibility of seeing up to 15 patients daily. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm, with no weekend work required. All tolls, parking, and mileage between stops are reimbursed. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elmhurst, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
