About this role
A Junior Trader supports the trading team in selling marine fuels (bunkers) to customers, assisting in ensuring efficient and cost-effective fuel procurement. They contribute to building relationships across departments, help negotiate competitive prices, support logistics coordination, and monitor market trends under guidance. Their role contributes to the performance and profitability of the ports they assist in managing, with increasing responsibility over time. Engage in the purchase and sale of marine fuel and associated products and to foster profitable and longstanding relationships with a portfolio of counterparties, whist maintaining a risk aware perspective with regard to credit risk and payment performance. Physical Supply teams are responsible for delivering P&L in its supply-markets of influence. Furthermore, the supply team is responsible for close cooperation with Cargo, Hedging, Technical, Ops Teams to ensure smooth operation. Observe how senior traders analyse Platts settlement, market structure, and backwardation/contango trends. Ask questions to deepen understanding. Support in reviewing that all fixture details are aligned with hedging reports. Learn the importance of accuracy and timing in reporting. Monitor ongoing and upcoming port operations under guidance, gaining insight into how port dynamics impact supply planning. Collaborate with the BIO department to observe biofuel deliveries, offers, and trends. Stay updated on developments and share insights with the team.
