About this role
Are you an HSEQ professional who enjoys being close to operations, influencing safe behaviours, and helping teams deliver work the right way? We are looking for a proactive HSEQ Advisor to join our contract HSEQ team, supporting one of our regional operational areas and reporting to the HSEQ Lead. In this hands-on role, you will be a visible and trusted point of contact for health, safety, environmental and quality matters. You will help promote compliance, support site teams, identify and escalate issues, and ensure lessons learned, documentation and system requirements are communicated clearly across the contract. You will work closely with operational teams, contract leadership and clients to support safe, compliant and efficient delivery. Maintain and promote high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across operational activities. Carry out site inspections, assurance visits and verification checks, ensuring findings and non-conformances are followed through to effective closure. Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations, helping teams identify root causes, learn lessons and implement practical corrective actions. Encourage positive intervention reporting, unsafe act and condition reporting, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Produce weekly and monthly updates that highlight achievements, trends, risks, issues and opportunities for improvement. Work with operational teams to drive timely close-out of corrective actions raised by internal compliance reviews, client feedback and external audits. Compile accident and incident statistics for the contracts you support and contribute to client and contract performance meetings. Build strong working relationships with supervisors, operatives, contractors, clients and support functions to improve ways of working. Be a visible HSEQ presence on site and in the office, coaching teams and promoting safe, responsible and professional behaviours. Support training and competency compliance, helping ensure operational teams have the right skills, knowledge and authorisations to work safely. Assist the Quality Assurance and Environmental Lead with management system requirements and accreditations, including ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Continue to develop your knowledge of our services, our clients and the wider utilities sector as the business grows.
