About this role
The main goal of the EMEA Engineering team is to develop new products or product variants that will strengthen our position in the market as well as to support other departments (Sales, Manufacturing, Quality) in all product engineering related matters. As part of the EMEA engineering team, your focus will be on pump and/or submersible motor design. You will be the main reference for one or more product development projects, some of which may be manufactured abroad. Your responsibility will include the correct definition of drawings and specifications for new products as well as the definition, validation, and implementation of design changes or new product variants. To do this, you will count on the support of the experienced engineering team in Dueville (Italy), and you will need to collaborate with other engineering teams abroad, mainly in Turkey and in Germany. You will also support or be responsible for product certification projects, such as drinking water certifications, safety certifications and certifications to specific standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads New Product Development projects from a technical perspective, which can be completely new designs, variants of existing designs or already designed products to be assembled in our facilities. Defines technical solutions on new developments or product modifications along with the Project Team. Proposes ideas for new developments and product modifications to improve the competitiveness of our products (cost reduction, quality improvement) Creates 3D models for new product developments or product modifications Defines drawings and technical documentation including tolerances and control specifications. Manages design changes and new developments from a technical perspective Is responsible for the release of drawings and technical documentation. Participates in analysis of products from main competitors Creates and manages DFMEA, DVP&R and other related technical documents working together with the engineering team Understands certification requirements and leads product certification projects. Supports Manufacturing, Sales, and Service/Quality departments on product specific issues. Visits production sites and creates collaborative relationships with the key stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing) To perform his job, the candidate will need to: Become familiar with the existing pump and motor designs, critical dimensions and characteristics. Understand products assembly processes and controls. Get to know legal requirements of products in the reference markets. Get to know how pumping systems work (pump-motor-electronic drive) Understand customer technical needs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.
