About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice within the Rostering Services Department at King's Mill Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in healthcare administration while gaining valuable practical experience in a busy and supportive healthcare environment. As part of the Rostering Services team, you will develop a wide range of administrative, organisational and computer skills while working alongside experienced colleagues.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive computerised and clerical administrative support to the Rostering Services Department. You will play an important role in helping to deliver flexible, efficient and high-quality staffing and administrative support to wards and departments across King's Mill Hospital.

Person Specification

Knowledge Requirements Essential

Knowledge and understanding of a range of administration and HR work procedures and practices, some of which are non-routine in nature Knowledge of the relevant procedures, plus knowledge of how to deal with related non-routine activities, such as answering queries, progress chasing, task-related problem solving. Knowledge of specialised IT systems, with the ability to problem solve to answer system queries effectively

Previous NHS experience

Qualifications Essential

Good standard general education to GCSE level. ECDL or willingness to work towards RSA / NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience

Further Training Essential

Vocational Level 3 or equivalent experience

Experience and Responsibility Essential

Previous clerical experience Previous customer care experience Computer literate, with previous experience of using a keyboard Experience of working to strict deadlines and under pressure Experience of updating IT systems to ensure information is accurate and up to date

Previous experience of using Allocate Systems

Contractual Requirements Essential

Regular attendance and willingness to work flexible hours as necessary Adherence to Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.
