About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commissioning Manager to join our

Neighbourhood North team. At North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, we are

committed to providing high-quality care and support to our community.

The role covers the Northumberland, North Tyneside and North Cumbria areas, therefore you will be expected to travel around these areas.

Please note this post is only accepting applications from current staff of North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board and staff members of North of England Commissioning Support (NECS).

Main duties of the job

The postholder will support the ICB's Commissioning group, working in the Neighbourhood North team.

The postholder will work as part of a multi-professional team to drive forward the vision of the ICB through the three identified groups, working closely with Nursing, Medical and Finance colleagues to support teams to work collaboratively and effectively towards shared goals.

The role will be critical in ensuring that the ICB effectively commissions and contracts all services it is responsible for, ensuring ongoing service evaluation and re-design as appropriate in line with the critical functions of an Integrated Care Board.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

Job description Job responsibilities

What you will do:

To support senior members of the team in the delivery of the range of ICB commissioned services and contracts

Work with colleagues across the ICB, to ensure local intelligence and sight is fed into the contracting cycle to ensure strategies, plans and performance are coherent and deliver commissioning intentions

Maintain contract documentation, communication tools and associated plans ensuring they are available and used to their maximum value in a timely manner

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in commissioning Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)

Knowlwdge and Skills Essential

Evidence continuing professional development. Managing NHS contracts with a range of providers Experience of project principles techniques and tools.

Working Conditions Essential

Able to travel across various sites where applicable
