About this role
Job summary
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic pharmacists to join the SaSH clinical pharmacy team through our Band 6 to Band 7 progression programme. These roles offer a clear and supported development pathway and are ideal for newly qualified pharmacists, pharmacists looking to move into hospital practice, or more experienced hospital pharmacists seeking their next career step. Progression from Band 6 to Band 7 is automatic upon completion of the required milestones. Pharmacists with suitable experience may be considered for direct entry into the Band 7 rotation stage.
Our team has more than 100 staff, half of whom are pharmacists. Band 6 pharmacists rotate through different specialties every three months, including acute medicine, cardiology, elderly, surgery, paediatrics, and medicines information. Longer band 7 rotations enable greater development of clinical and managerial skills including completion of an independent prescribing qualification. The lead pharmacists will support you with a bespoke rotation workbook and objectives.
We are a friendly and progressive department with a strong emphasis on training and development. We support our pharmacists to undertake a clinical diploma including the opportunity to become a prescribing pharmacist once a band 7.
The successful candidate should be adaptable to new situations, capable of using their own initiative and patient centred at heart.
