We are looking for a friendly, experienced and confident Phlebotomist to join our supportive and welcoming GP practice.
Main duties of the job
This is an important patient-facing role within our clinical team. You will be responsible for providing safe, efficient and compassionate phlebotomy services to our patients, ensuring they have a positive and reassuring experience throughout their appointment.

Woodcote Medical is a well-established suburban practice with approx. 18,000 patients across two locations in Purley and Coulsdon. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, ANPs, a Paramedic, Nurses, HCAs, First Contact Physios, and a large administrative and patient services team.

Key Responsibilities
Perform phlebotomy safely, confidently and efficiently Collect blood samples for a range of laboratory investigations Accurately identify, label and handle patient samples in accordance with practice and laboratory procedures Follow all relevant infection prevention and control procedures Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records Provide a calm, professional and reassuring experience, particularly for patients who may be anxious or nervous about having blood taken Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised clinical environment Work effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary practice team.Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 12:00pm (21.25 hours per week)
The role involves working within 5-minute appointment slots, so confidence, efficiency and excellent practical skills are essential.
The successful candidate will also need to be flexible to work across our Purley and Coulsdon surgery sites.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional, friendly and genuinely patient-focused Calm, reassuring and empathetic manner Reliable, organised and able to work independently Excellent attention to detail when handling, labelling and documenting samples An understanding of infection prevention, clinical governance and patient safety Adaptable and willing to work across both practice locations
Qualifications Essential
Qualified in Phlebotomy
