Job summary

Are you a caring, motivated individual looking for Bank work? TIC Health is looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team, supporting patients through their journey from arrival through to the completion of their appointment or scan.

This is a hands-on, patient-facing role combining reception duties with clinical support, including phlebotomy, cannulation, and assisting clinicians within CT and MRI. You will be a key part of a friendly team, helping to ensure every patient receives a safe, comfortable, and well-coordinated experience. We are seeking experienced and proactive HCA's to look after our patients, covering for all our branches.

As our Healthcare Assistant, you'll be the face of the clinic for both patients and professional referrers, ensuring clinical spaces are properly maintained, and patients receive a seamless and professional experience.

Main duties of the job

The Healthcare Assistant will provide high-quality patient care and clinical support within the clinic, ensuring patients are welcomed, prepared, and supported throughout their visit.

The post holder will work closely with radiographers and other clinical and administrative staff to support diagnostic imaging procedures, and will also carry out front-of-house duties including patient check-in and handling patient enquiries by phone and email.

Patient Care and Reception

Greet patients on arrival in a friendly, professional, and reassuring manner Check patients in for their scheduled appointments Respond to patient queries received via the email inbox Answer incoming telephone calls and handle patient enquiries appropriately, escalating where necessary Clinical and Procedural Duties

Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, including CT and MRI, ensuring patients understand what to expect Provide phlebotomy services / undertake training for, taking blood samples as required Perform cannulation for patients where clinically required Assist the radiographer with patient positioning during scanning procedures Monitor patient comfort and wellbeing throughout procedures, Clinic Environment

Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy clinical environment at all times Ensure clinical areas and equipment are prepared appropriately between patients Adhere to infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance policies General

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements at all times Work collaboratively as part of the wider clinical and administrative team Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as requiredPlease state in application if you wish to be considered for South Clinics or North Clinics

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous experience in a healthcare, clinic, or hospital setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow clinical protocols and instructions accurately; Good organisational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of infection control and health and safety procedures; Calm and reassuring manner, including with anxious patients. Flexible and adaptable to changing clinic needs Willingness to undertake phlebotomy and cannulation training if not already qualified. Strong administrative skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with patients and colleagues Ability to travel between clinic branches, if required

Desirable

Experience in a similar front-of-house role within a private or NHS medical or clinical setting Experience in phlebotomy and/or cannulation; Experience assisting with diagnostic imaging procedures (CT/MRI)Skills Familiarity with diagnostic imaging, cardiac screening, or private GP services Experience using clinical software systems or patient management systems
