Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen due to service expansion for 1 Reproductive Technologist to join our laboratory team at Cambridge IVF (Cambridge site). This state of the art NHS fertility centre offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and clinical treatment services and encompasses the regional diagnostic andrology service for Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area, with capacity for up to 7000 semen analyses per annum.

Applicants should possess a First or Second Class Biological Sciences degree. A relevant postgraduate qualification and laboratory experience are highly desirable but full training will be provided to all successful candidates. You will have the opportunity to work across our Andrology and Embryology Laboratories to a UKAS accredited standard in accordance with the requirements of ISO15189:2022 and in accordance with the HFEA Code of Practice for fertility centres.
The position will require some weekend, bank-holiday and out of hours work on a rotational basis.
Main duties of the job
A committed member of a dedicated team of laboratory scientists and technicians. Working to the highest standards of clinical excellence to contribute to our patient focused fertility service.
You will mainly be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic procedures within the Diagnostic Andrology laboratory. There may be scope for the opportunity to apply for an In-Service Trainee (IST) post on the National Scientific Training Programme (STP) positions for Andrology or Embryology.
You will be expected to deal with members of the public in a polite and compassionate manner and to work with precision, accuracy and transparency in everything they do.

All roles in the Trust include a mandatory 12-week training period. Therefore, successful candidates are expected to have the Right to Work for a period of at least 6 months from the proposed start date. All appointments with a start date on or after 1 October will be subject to a 12-week probationary period. This provides a structured and supportive period to help you settle into your role, with regular reviews and feedback.
