Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Community Public Health Assistant Practitioner, you will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of working in the community with children and their wider family.
You will be a solution focused team player who will support the delivery of the universal offer, in a 0-19 integrated neighbourhood team.
You will work collaboratively with other agencies, to ensure protection and the best health outcomes for children and families in Bolton. As a Specialist Community Public Health Assistant Practitioner, you will work within the community, dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of need.

We have a long and proud history of caring for generations of local people and can trace our roots all the way back to 1814 with the first hospital in Bolton - the Bolton Dispensary in the town centre.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 310,000+ people.
The Royal Bolton Hospital is a major hub within Greater Manchester for women's and children's services and is the busiest single ambulance-receiving site in Greater Manchester. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Evidence of working with children & young people
Experience Essential
Experience of working in the local community. Experience of working with children, young people and families. Experience of delivering to groups Experience of producing resources to support public health messages. Experience of networking with community partners. Experience of managing resources.
Skills Essential
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills/ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals. Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise and work to deadlines Willingness to undertake training. Ability to work flexibly according to service need. Ability to travel with ease across the borough to deliver the service.
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of the health improvement initiatives for children, young people and their families.
