Job Overview
We are looking for staff nurses who want an exciting challenge and are seeking to develop new skills. This is a development role fixed over 1 year with the possibility to expand, with CPD module linked to the University of Hertfordshire that offers progression to the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse training (Health Visiting). We want you to be passionate about Public Health, early intervention and prevention and to want to be part of an integrated service which strives for excellence, loves creativity and supports working together.

Main duties of the job
To support health visitors in delivering the Healthy Child Programme and Whittington Health Trust (Barnet) Health Visiting service specification. To work across the 0-19 service, based within the Health Visiting teams, to improve health and life outcomes for children and families within a defined community through delivering packages of care/support following assessment by the Health Visitor/Team Leader. To participate in the development of intervention pathways, services and health improvement activities. Person Specification
Education and Qualification Essential
The post holder is a qualified registered nurse ideally with experience in working in paediatrics in an acute/community setting Experience working in the community and/or with children and families
Skills and Abilities Essential
Excellent communication skills: IT, written and oral High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to and evaluate health needs. Ability to apply research to practice. Ability to set personal objectives, and manage time, priorities and stressful situations Ability to delegate work appropriately and safely. Ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements and the ability to make decisions in these areas Willingness to support management of change.
