Job Summary

As an Administration & Training Coordinator, youll play an important role in supporting the safe production of blood components by coordinating training, maintaining compliance records, and providing essential administrative support. Youll work closely with managers, trainers, and laboratory teams to ensure colleagues receive the training and induction they need to perform at their best. This is a varied role where youll help maintain high quality standards, organise learning activities, support recruitment and onboarding, and contribute to continuous improvement. Your work will help ensure teams have the skills, knowledge, and support needed to save and improve lives every day.

Main duties of the job

Coordinate training, induction, and development activities so colleagues have the skills and support they need to succeed.

Help maintain training records, databases, and compliance systems to support quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.

Support new starters by organising onboarding activities, arranging training, and helping them settle into their role.

Work with managers and colleagues to plan and prioritise training activity, ensuring learning is delivered efficiently and effectively.

Provide administrative support across the department, including meeting coordination, record management, and minute taking.

Support recruitment activity by helping to coordinate interviews, assessments, and candidate administration.

Produce reports and maintain accurate records to help teams make informed decisions and maintain compliance.

Work collaboratively with trainers, supervisors, and managers to continuously improve processes and ways of working.

Contribute to audits and quality activities, helping ensure high standards are maintained across the department.

Able and willing to work up to 15 days over weekends / bank holidays per year as per a roster (unless otherwise rostered within shift agreement) and with.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

BTEC or HNC (Level 4) in a science subject, or a qualification relevant to administration and/or training OR NHSBT Foundation Degree. OR equivalent knowledge and experience of a broad range of blood processing, testing and/or issuing procedures and techniques requiring intermediate theoretical knowledge gained through formal training. Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Experience Essential

Experience of using computers and standard IT applications. Experience of supervising others
