Job summary
We are looking for a qualified HCPC Registered Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Practitioner Psychologist to ensure the delivery of high quality, accessible and inclusive psychological services. Under the supervision of a senior psychologist, you will offer and support the delivery of a range of evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions relevant to the people we serve.
You will receive regular clinical supervision from a senior Psychologist and may provide similar support to more junior roles within your team e.g. Newly Qualified Psychologists, MHWPs, Assistant Psychologists. Our national Psychology Team provides connection, peer support, reflective practice and CPD.

Main duties of the job
Primary Functions: Plan, develop and implement localised:
Contingency management initiatives in local services, aligned to evidence-based practice.
Social behaviour network therapy (SBNT) interventions embedded within the available range of psychosocial Interventions.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement techniques, engaging in direct delivery of these interventions i.e. Assessing and then offering 6 sessions of CBT on cycle to people for whom this is indicated.
Behavioural couples therapy (BCT) and trauma-focused interventions for co-occurring disorders. i.e. Assessing and then offering 6 sessions on cycle to people for whom this is indicated.
Support the implementation of localised approaches using Motivational Interviewing (MI, providing appropriate support and supervision to practitioners and connecting to associated national teams
Explore and implement localised third-wave CBT approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based relapse prevention.
Support localised trauma-informed care approaches, embedding associated practice within the local team
Develop and establish mechanisms to measure outcomes, undertake fidelity checks, and evaluate the effectiveness of the above interventions.
Develop and establish mechanisms to support equity of access to the above specialised interventions.

Leadership
Provide focused support to deliver against the role primary functions as listed above these will lead all delivery and activity and should be considered the primary role specific responsibilities ahead of all others noted.
As part of the local service team, provide clinical leadership; supporting your own services development to deliver psychology, psychosocial therapy and talking therapies, and linkage to relevant local pathways for support.
Work as a professional registered within professional guidelines.
Provide clinical leadership and supervision within the sphere of your professional expertise.
Provide evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions with due regard to issues of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Actively promote integrated health/care professional working internally and externally.
Facilitate the development of a positive and supportive team culture.
Deliver regular monthly reflective practice, team formulations and other psychologically informed approaches for clinical and non-clinical teams.
Take an active interest in working parties and groups within the wider service to develop and improve on service delivery, protocols and guidelines.
Support delivery and understanding of an effective, trauma-informed psychology provision within your service, supporting MDT understanding of evidence-based/evidence-informed provision.
Lead the more junior psychological professionals within your service, such that the best professional standards are deployed.
Provide clinical supervision and consultation to more junior psychologists inclusive of assistant psychologists, psychology trainees and counsellors as appropriate.
Provide rotational monthly group supervision for Mental Health First Aiders and Web Chat/SUEC Practitioners in your given service delivery area as required and if these roles are present.
Support the recruitment of psychology staff, ensuring that required standards of governance, qualification, practice, and registration as determined by the HCPC and other relevant professional bodies are met.
In the course of your work build and maintain links with local NHS, voluntary sector providers and other related services, enabling shared learning and collaboration.
Clinical and Clinical Supervision
Provide consultation, training and clinical supervision to junior psychologists inclusive of assistant psychologists, multidisciplinary professionals and non-clinical colleagues to support the provision of psychologically-based interventions.
Provide highly specialist, psychological assessment and formulation for the people who use our services.
Promote and contribute to multidisciplinary assessments that reflect an understanding of the impact of adverse experiences on a persons mental health and overall well-being.
Provide highly specialist, evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions with due regard to issues of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Receive regular clinical supervision from a senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, and to use opportunities for relevant peer support and CPD through Change Grow Lives Psychology Team.
Use theory, literature, and research to support evidence-based and evidence-informed practice within the service.
Lead provision to ensure that interventions provided are trauma informed,
Lead provision to ensure that interventions are delivered in accordance with NICE guidelines, CQC regulation and best practice.
Ensure that up to date clinical records are maintained in accordance with professional and organisational standards and policy, utilising the local case management system.
Research and Development
Contribute to and support colleagues with local, area and national evaluation, research projects and audits in this area.

Qualifications Essential
For Clinical Psychologists Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (accredited by the BPS); or the BPS Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology. (The statement of equivalence is designed for overseas qualified clinical psychologists who need to undertake further training to meet UK standards and for psychologists qualified in other domains wishing to become clinical psychologists. The statement is no longer available to new entrants.) For Counselling Psychology Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (accredited by the BPS); or the BPS Qualification in Counselling Psychology. For Forensic Psychology Professional Doctorate in Forensic Psychology (accredited by the BPS); or Masters degree in Forensic Psychology (accredited by the BPS) plus stage two of the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology; or Stages one and two of the BPS Qualification in Forensic Psychology. Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice in this field (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level/ supervised practice/ additional training) that has been accepted for the purposes of professional registration. Training in clinical supervision
Experience Essential
Experience of working as a psychologist and/or successful completion of a preceptorship. Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of people across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings. Experience of working with a wide variety of people, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity. Experience of the application of Clinical or Counselling Psychology in different contexts. Experience of working within a trauma-informed framework.
Desirable
Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision. Experience of working in a drug and alcohol services and working with people who use drugs and/or alcohol. Experience of multi-agency working. Experience and skill in using Motivational Interviewing. Experience of delivering psychological interventions to people with experiences of complex trauma.
