Job summary

Band 3 - Booking Clerk

4 Full-time posts, 1 Part-time 25.5 hour post & 1 Part-time 16 hour post.

The Access, Booking & Choice Team have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.

The department is the central hub for outpatient and inpatient booking, and operates flexibly over 7 days a week. You will be responsible primarily for providing a comprehensive booking service, whilst additionally completing all associated tasks to ensure our patients receive an excellent first impression, whilst ensuring all necessary data is recorded to facilitate the patient's attendance management under the 18 week and national cancer pathways.

Duties will include liaising with patients and internal departments over the telephone, registering patients and their referrals, booking and confirming appointments/admissions using LE2.2, Somerset, Choose and Book and ORMIS, dealing with enquiries, using waiting lists to manage patients, escalating capacity requirements, filing and other general clerical duties

You should have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including covering for colleagues during absence and annual leave. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working in a similar administrative environment.

Will have a full understanding of booking processes, and ensure standards are implemented, adhered to, maintained and approved to ensure patients are appointed and their pathway is managed appropriately. Liaising with patients / carers to agree all appointments / attendances, cancellations and re-booking. Manage non-attendance in line with the Trust's Access Policy.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications Essential

Good general education standards, including English GCSE or equivalent (Grade C or above) ECDL or equivalent skills

Administration/Customer Service Qualification

Experience & Knowledge Essential

Experience in an administrative environment Customer Service Skills Information Governance Training Has a working knowledge of LE2.2
