You will lead equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives across the partnership, support colleagues delivering health equity objectives, analyse and report on workforce and service data, and provide operational leadership.
Acting as deputy to the Head of Health Equity when required, you will help drive meaningful change and ensure equitable opportunities for service users, staff and stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
To provide leadership and effective management of equality, diversity and inclusion activity enabling improved accessibility and equality of opportunity for all stakeholders across the LMWS service.To provide operational support to roles within LMWS that have Healthy Equity as part of their workplans.To collect, analyse and report on data in relation to workforce and service delivery.To act as a deputy to the Head of Health Equity where appropriate.

Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service is a partnership of 11 providers that provides support and psychological therapies for common mental health problems to those aged 17 and over who are registered with a Leeds GP.
The Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) and its partners are committed to ensuring that all service provision is accessible and fairly meets the diverse needs of all people who use the service. All partners in the LMWS recognise the underlying inequalities that exist in the health system and wider society. Addressing health inequalities is a priority for the service and this is directed by a service-wide Health Inequalities Action Plan which is owned by the LMWS Partnership Board.
Job description Job responsibilities
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBLITIES
To ensure implementation of the services Health Equity Action Plan in collaboration with senior leadership team of LMWS.
To support, motivate, develop and coach staff who have a focus of Health Equity within their role across the service.
To ensure the service has robust arrangements in place to capture, analyse and act on equality monitoring data to inform service improvements and employment best practice.
To produce monthly dashboard reports and quarterly impact reports on equality monitoring and workforce data, suggestions recommendations and lessons learnt.
To write and present annual diversity audit reports covering workforce and service delivery.
Where needed, Chair and support working/sub/task & finish groups as directed by the leadership team.
To work closely with the Head of Health Equity, service managers and their teams to ensure consistency of approach and be one point of contact for expert advice including the delivery of briefing sessions.
To draft relevant policies, procedures and support the development of strategies as directed by the LMWS leadership team.
To draft and present performance reports to the leadership team on work related to health equity.
To work in partnership with HR and Strategic Delivery/Operational Delivery colleagues to inform and support inclusive staff recruitment, retention and development strategies.
To deliver and facilitate learning and training sessions as directed by the LMWS Leadership team.
To deliver induction seminars to the LMWS workforce outlining the Health Equity within LMWS.
To lead on specified projects/development work as directed by the LMWS leadership team and have knowledge and understanding of other health equity projects.
To support the service to facilitate service user consultation and involvement activities with support from the coproduction team.
To develop links, relationships and alliances with organisations in the city representing protected characteristic groups and diverse communities.
To represent the service on local, regional and national equality/diversity/health equity networks/forums.
To keep up to date and share knowledge around current legislative, public policy and best practice advice and guidance on equality, diversity and inclusion matters.
To share best practice and learning with the LMWS senior leadership team e.g. case studies.
MANAGING STAFF
To provide operational day to day management support to staff, assisting them to develop and fulfil the needs of their roles.
To support and participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of Touchstone employees as appropriate.
SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion and to apply this knowledge to the needs of the LMWS service.
To support development of a cohesive service team that meets the needs of theLMWS service and its partners.
FINANCE
To support and manage delegated budgets and ensure all purchasing is undertaken in accordance with Touchstones and LMWSs expectations.
GENERAL
To actively promote and provide information about the LMWS service and equal opportunities best practice to other Touchstone services and to people/agencies with an interest in the work of the LMWS.
To be inducted, line managed, performance managed and appraised in line with the organisations HR policies and procedures.
To be responsible for personal learning and development where appropriate and undertake training, both mandatory and optional, to increase knowledge, skills and awareness.
To provide monitoring information and reports as part of funding and organisational requirements and for the Board of Trustees as requested by Touchstone management.
To operate within the values, aims, policies and practices of Touchstone at all times and to be committed to and promote the organisations equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory policies.
To keep the Head of Health Equity informed of serious incidents, safeguardingissues, health & safety concerns, financial issues, service user and staff welfareissues.
To be aware of and employ the general practices of organisational Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Security policies and ensure these are adhered to at all times.
To ensure that appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are set up andmaintained. This includes the development of new record keeping systems, analysing information and compiling reports based on qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation data as required by commissioners and Touchstone.
To support on the development and maintenance of links with public and voluntarysector partners.
To always work as part of a team. This includes working with other staff,attending team and staff meetings and developing a teamwork approach to allaspects of the work.
To be aware of and apply the principles of Trauma Informed Practice.
To participate and be included in Touchstones Manager on Call rota.
To be an information asset owner ensuring information is dealt with in accordance with information governance, data protection and GDPR e.g. including carrying out data protection impact assessments, data flow, service records of process activity. Also to prepare information in accordance with data subject access requests.
To ensure that staff attend mandatory training on information governance, data protection and GDPR and Policies are adhered eg Confidentiality, Communications, Internet, Email and Telecommunications and steps are taken to ensure that confidential information is secure e.g. service user data.

Experience Essential
Considerable experience of leading or supporting on equality, diversity and inclusion in services/organisations with positive outcomes. Effectively working in a Social and Health Care or Public/Charity sector setting. Successful leadership record in the area of equality/ diversity/inclusion. Successful management, leadership and motivation of colleagues, staff and others to meet individual, service and organisational objectives. Positively engaging people with equality, diversity and inclusion and supporting positive change in services/organisations. Track record of successfully working closely with senior leaders and decision makers. Effectively producing and presenting reports/ information to senior management teams/boards. Experience of analysing complex data and intelligence and presenting this information in a clear and concise manner. Facilitating and delivering training and management briefings. Working within multi-partnership projects/services. Successfully planning and delivering services to marginalised or protected characteristics groups. Working in way that supports coproduction and the service user voice.
Desirable
Experience of working in mental health service. Project Management experience.
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent management qualification or equivalent experience.
Skills Essential

Effectively analyse, draft and present information including data to senior managers/decision makers. Efficiently work under pressure, prioritise own workload and meet timescales.
