Section Coordinator
Position Description: Coordinates a section in a department that has institutional oversight responsibilities. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program or departmental project as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.

Major/Essential Functions: • Provide administrative and operational support to the Office of the Dean, ensuring timely completion of assignments and effective coordination of office activities with minimal supervision. • Manage calendars, appointments, meetings, and correspondence for the Office of the Dean. • Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, visitors, and callers by providing coverage for the faculty ring and front desk, responding to inquiries, answering telephone calls, directing requests, and delivering professional customer service. • Coordinate logistical support for meetings, events, and educational activities, including room reservations, audiovisual services, facilities requests, and catering arrangements. • Provide technical and programmatic support to faculty, including conference-related activities, software assistance, troubleshooting technology issues, and initiating work orders as needed. • Maintain office operations by overseeing inventory and procurement of supplies, and supporting property and equipment tracking processes. • Process and reconcile procurement card transactions and assist with purchasing activities in accordance with institutional policies and procedures. • Serve as a travel delegate by coordinating travel arrangements, obtaining required approvals, and processing travel reimbursements. • Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, and related personnel activities for the Office of the Dean. • Support Unit Safety Officer responsibilities and coordinate safety-related activities in collaboration with the Department of Safety Services. • Remains current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Required Qualifications: • Bachelors degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal six (6) years.
Preferred Qualifications: • Proficient in MS Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook. • Willing to learn more job specific programs. • Excellent written and oral communications skills. • Excellent typing and note-taking skills.
