Job Description: Specialty Ingredients (SI) NA Regional Quality Manager - Decatur, IL This is an Exempt position. Job Summary: This position is a leadership role within the Specialty Ingredients (SI) team. The position provides proactive leadership in the development, implementation, execution, and performance of the Quality Systems to ensure products meet global quality and food safety standards.
Essential Job Functions: • Manage and oversee the quality and food safety reporting of location Quality leadership – proactively provide quality and food safety guidance to all SI NA locations. • Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with location QA managers and participate in monthly performance reviews for the locations. • Make decisions regarding quality/food safety (QFS) global impacts on products. • Provide product disposition when needed. • Be flexible, providing QFS support across projects and teams. • Support and provide guidance on the SI food safety plans, ensure control points are being handled per the program requirements, and risk assessments are accurate and up to date. • Manage, plan, implement, and continuously improve QFS programs and procedures. • Facilitate regional Quality Management Review meetings. • Assist, where needed, in compliance and regulatory audits. • Establish goals and monitor metrics that support QFS. • Report key performance indicators to divisional and regional leadership teams. • Provide training/guidance to handle customer expectations with a customer-centric mindset. • Participate in and lead, when necessary, customer facing meetings and events. • Participate/lead cross functional teams to resolve customer issues. • Participate in or lead root cause analysis and corrective action/preventative action plans in the event of a serious QFS incident. • Monitor health of quality system and confirm location QFS escalations. • Own QMS implementation and ongoing effectiveness. • Ensure and verify QA, food safety, and sanitation compliance in the region. • Verify root cause and corrective action discipline. • Ensure awareness to leading practices and industry trends. • Champion digital quality initiatives and system optimization to improve efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making. • Lead and develop site Food Safety and Quality teams across North America. • Collaborate with the QC labs supporting the region. Job Qualifications: • Preferred 4 year degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or related technical discipline or equivalent 6 year Food Safety experience • Recommended PCQI trained • Prior laboratory experience / knowledge of laboratory procedures. • Working knowledge of document management systems, eQMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and other data bases. • Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements. • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available. • Ability to work as a team member and provide training. • Experience leading organizational culture transformation initiatives preferred. : Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
