SCA Drafter/CAD Operator III

Job Description: BAE Systems is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator. In this role, you will create and maintain a library of engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MS Visio, or similar applications to document facilities layout and system data interfaces. You will maintain configuration control of approved final drawings and coordinate with engineers to draft working copies for engineering projects and proposed design changes. Work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and provides AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) combat systems for engineering, testing, training, and certification.

Required Skills and Education: This position requires at least a high school diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience relevant to AutoCAD, MS Visio, or related applications, and experience adhering to American Institute of Architects (AIA) CAD Layer Guidelines.

Preferred Skills and Education: • Experience with U.S. Navy AEGIS and/or SSDS systems. • Associate’s degree in drafting or related field. • A CAD certification.
