Job Description: BAE Systems is seeking a Miniature/Microminiature (2M) Technician. In this role, you will repair electrical and electronic enclosures, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules. Functions include: • Wiring and soldering of terminals and connectors, removal and replacement of discrete components and integrated circuits on single‐sided and double‐sided through‐hole technology circuit card assemblies • Removal and replacement of conformal coatings on single‐sided and double‐sided through‐hole technology circuit card assemblies • Removal and replacement of damaged pads and conductors on single‐sided and double‐sided through‐hole technology circuit card assemblies • Removal and replacement of damaged laminate on single‐sided and double‐sided through‐hole technology circuit card assemblies Work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and provides AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) combat systems for engineering, testing, training, and certification.
Required Skills and Education: This position requires four (4) years of experience performing corrective maintenance on circuit cards and electronic modules by troubleshooting and repairing the faulty cards and modules.
Must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40-hour work-week configurations, including: 1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift 2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift 3. Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift 4. Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift **Additionally, these work week configurations may rotate to meet mission requirements.
Preferred Skills and Education: • A related U.S. Navy NEC. • Experience with U.S. Navy AEGIS and/or SSDS systems. • Navy 2M certification. • Associate’s degree in electronic technology or related field.
