The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We are looking for a Shipping Team Lead to join our team on the 1st shift. This position will be based at our Wendell, NC location.
Shift Hours: 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $24.79
You’ll make an impact by:
Leading all shipping and material handling operations, including inbound materials, auditing, replenishment, put-away, inventory control, and warehouse activities. Safely operating warehouse equipment including stand-up reach trucks, stand-up order pickers, sit-down forklifts, and a Yard Jockey for trailer positioning; utilize hand, battery, electrical, and air-powered tools as needed. Accurately receiving, inspecting, verifying, and documenting incoming materials, supplies, and products, including processing damage claims in accordance with established procedures. Maintaining inventory accuracy while supporting 5S+, Lean principles (8 Wastes, VSM, Kaizens, Standard Work), continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to established processes and methods. Supporting team success by maintaining clean, safe, and functional work areas, training new employees, assisting with SAP system access setup, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer - sponsored work authorization. Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking. 3+ years of experience working in the shipping department of a manufacturing plant. 3+ years’ experience with Forklifts (Reach truck, sit down, Cherry pickers) Proficient in using SAP – ERP system and RF Devices. Must be able to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 50 lbs. occasionally Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and resolve conflict in a professional manner. Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or a related position. Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED 5S/6S Problem solving (A3, 8D, etc)
