The Fred Smith Company is currently recruiting for the position of Concrete Finisher/Form Carpenter. Successful applicants will have at least 3 years experience constructing and dismantling concrete forms for bridges, culverts and walls, and finishing concrete surfaces.

Job Overview Fred Smith Company is hiring an experienced and dependable Concrete Form Carpenter / Finisher. This position involves constructing and installing concrete forms, placing and finishing concrete, and completing projects safely and according to specifications.
Responsibilities Build, install, align, brace, and remove concrete forms Read plans, measurements, grades, and layout markings Pour, spread, level, screed, float, edge, and finish concrete Create broom, smooth, and other specified finishes Install reinforcing steel, wire mesh, and related materials Operate hand and power tools safely Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Follow company safety procedures and use required protective equipment Work effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and crew members
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: Qualifications Previous concrete form carpentry and finishing experience required Knowledge of concrete placement, curing, and finishing methods Ability to read construction plans and use a tape measure accurately Experience using concrete-forming tools and equipment Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors Able to lift [50–75] pounds and stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift Dependable transportation and consistent attendance Willingness to work early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed Valid driver’s license preferred
