The Test Engineer is responsible for defining verification strategies, test methods, and validation frameworks for vehicle features, functions, and field testing activities. The role ensures product quality, performance, safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction through virtual, rig, laboratory, vehicle, and field-based verification. The individual acts as a recognized technical expert and thought leader, driving innovation in testing methodologies and supporting Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) transformation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDefine verification criteria, test requirements, and validation strategies for vehicle features, functions, and field tests.Develop test plans and lead test preparation, execution, analysis, and reporting activities.Identify verification needs and ensure coverage across system, software, and vehicle levels.Define field test strategies for emerging technologies including electrification, automated driving, connected services, and AI-based functions.Analyze test results, provide recommendations, and drive resolution of defects and fault reports.Prepare Engineering Reports (ERs) and communicate findings to stakeholdersContinuously improve test methods, standards, and technical requirements.Serve as the technical authority for test methods, test codes, and validation processes.Mentor engineers and drive testing excellence across global teams.Leadership ExpectationsRecognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Verification & Validation.Develop future test strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.Mentor engineers and build testing capabilities across organizations.Maintain strong industry networks and stay ahead of emerging validation technologies.Qualifications12+ years of experience in Verification & Validation, Vehicle Testing, Software Testing, and Software Integration.Strong knowledge of virtual validation, HIL/SIL/MIL, test automation, SDV, ASPICE ADAS, connectivity, and embedded software.Experience with test management, defect management, data analysis, and engineering reporting.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
