As a Natural Resources Investment Banking Vice President, you will be a client-facing execution and origination support leader focused on Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, and Mining & Metals clients. You will drive day-to-day transaction execution across mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets, and strategic advisory mandates, while supporting senior bankers in developing client relationships, originating opportunities, and delivering high-quality advice. This role requires strong financial and valuation expertise, sound judgment, a global mindset, and the ability to manage teams and multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead execution across sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital raises, and strategic advisory assignments from kickoff through closingOwn key workstreams including due diligence, evaluation of transaction risks, valuation and financial modeling, and strategic assessmentDraft and quality-control core deliverables, including pitch books, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, board materials, investment committee memoranda, and lender or investor materialsManage due diligence processes, including data room setup, Q&A coordination, expert calls, and site visits as applicable, while maintaining clear issue and risk trackingCoordinate internal and external parties, including coverage and product partners, legal advisers, accountants, consultants, lenders, investors, and counterparties, to keep processes on scheduleCoach and develop Analysts and Associates; delegate effectively, review work for accuracy, and ensure consistent standardsSupport senior bankers in client coverage by tracking sector developments, maintaining client-specific materials, and preparing for meetings and callsContribute to origination efforts by identifying ideas such as portfolio optimization, consolidation themes, joint venture structures, asset divestitures, and capital structure solutions, and translating them into actionable pitchesApply sector knowledge to execution, including commodity-price-linked sensitivities, technical concepts, regulatory considerations, and ESG and energy-transition dynamicsEnsure adherence to compliance policies, confidentiality requirements, and information-barrier protocols Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a relevant disciplineMinimum 6 years of relevant investment banking experience, with demonstrated transaction execution experience in Oil & Gas and/or Power & RenewablesTrack record of leading execution on M&A and/or capital markets transactionsAdvanced financial modeling and valuation skills, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, NAV or asset-based valuation where relevant, and LBO or returns analysisProven ability to manage multiple live workstreams simultaneously and prioritize effectively under time pressureStrong stakeholder management, communication, and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.Solid knowledge of Natural Resources markets and business models, with strong analytical skills and commercial judgment.Strong understanding of capital structure, credit metrics, and financing termsExcellent PowerPoint and written communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity, logic, and accuracyHigh attention to detail and strong quality-control habits
