What You Will Do:

• Engineer will be part of an agile/scrum development team, creating & supporting a re-usable operating environment for automated product testing and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.

• Develop modular software applications which interface test equipment hardware (including prime mover controllers, loadbanks, power supplies, discrete/analog I/O and comms data networks) and integrate them into a cohesive system.

• Collaborate with electrical engineers on wiring, hardware configuration and test stand requirements.

• Develop leading-edge software tools, supercomputing clusters, and real-time software applications for Automatic Test Equipment using Object Oriented Design, scripting languages (Python, TCL & others), and the C++ programming language.

• Provide on-site and remote support (including debugging, operating system administration, and computer hardware build-up / teardown) to our internal customers in development labs.

• Develop for Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Generate and maintain software documentation and change requests.

• Review and update department processes.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Software Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

• Experience with python scripting.

• Experience with configuration management experience preferred.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with object-oriented design principles.

• Experience with software design patterns.

• Experience with electrical engineering concepts.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
