Collins Aerospace Mission Systems is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Electrical Engineering Intern to support our cross‑functional project teams in Power and Actuations. In this role, you will assist with key activities related to the integration, verification, and validation of mission‑critical products. You will work closely with the design engineering, manufacturing, production, and product engineering teams to gain hands-on experience in systems-level development and problem solving. This position will be an onsite role based in Rockford, Il.
What You Will Do: As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace/RTX,
• You will support the electrical engineering activities for a Thrust Vector Actuation (TVA) system.
• You will perform circuit analysis for motor drive electronics, control electronics, and supporting subsystems and assist with electrical schematic generation and documentation updates.
• You will support printed wiring board (PWB) layout reviews, including component placement, routing assessments, and DFM considerations.
• You will collaborate closely with an integrated project team (IPT) consisting of mechanical, systems, test, and program engineering.
• You will assist with test procedure generation for qualification and acceptance test phases and participate in design reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and verification planning.

• You will gain familiarity with structured engineering processes, configuration control, and cross-functional integration.

Qualifications You Must Have:
• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
• Experience with circuit analysis and electronics principles.
• Experience with schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium, Mentor, OrCAD) through coursework, projects, or research.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience reviewing or creating PWB layouts.
• Experience with electromechanical systems or motion control.
• Experience with basic test engineering practices.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
