Position Summary:
The Convention Operations Attendant is responsible for assisting with the proper set up and maintenance of all meeting and entertainment venues.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides superior guest service. • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani. • Correctly and efficiently sets up and breaks down all functions related to events in the Meeting and Entertainment Center, Cowlitz Gathering Room, and off-site events according to the banquet event order. • Keeps meeting space and BOH storage areas clean and organized. • Maintains familiarity with the various types of workable setups for each function room. • Transports and stores tables, chairs, and other equipment. • Working knowledge of meeting and event schematics and Banquet and Event Orders • Communicates with various departments within the set-up and break-down of events for timing and support transitions. • Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions or equipment immediately to a supervisor. • Maintains constant awareness of safety and accident prevention remains properly trained in safety policies and procedures. • Assists guests whenever possible, referring all requests which are beyond scope of responsibility immediately to the Assistant Manager; responds to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. • Completes daily reports for event tracking for the next shift. • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD). • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment. • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with an emphasis on having an eye for detail. • Must be able to understand and consistently deliver brand standard. • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends (Fridays - Sundays), holidays, and overtime as needed. • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move around during the entire shift. • Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. • Must possess a valid Driver’s License. • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment. • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Wages: This role offers a starting wage of $18.28 per hour. Candidates with relevant experience may be placed higher within the established pay range.
