About this role

What you will do- The Director of Product Planning is responsible for developing and executing Maxwell's (a division of Clarios) product strategy for the AI Data Center market. This role serves as the market and customer expert, translating emerging industry trends, hyperscaler requirements, and power infrastructure challenges into actionable product roadmaps and growth strategies.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Experience Engineering and Product Planning, the Director of Product Planning will lead efforts to identify new market opportunities, drive product portfolio evolution, and ensure Maxwell's energy storage solutions are aligned with the future requirements of AI-driven data center architectures. The role requires strong industry knowledge of power generation, energy storage, backup power systems, and grid resiliency solutions supporting hyperscale data center deployments.

The successful candidate will build and maintain executive-level relationships with hyperscaler customers and key ecosystem partners while working closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Systems Solution Engineering, and Core Product Engineering teams to shape Maxwell's long-term product direction.

How you will do it-

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hyperscaler customers, cloud service providers, and key industry stakeholders while influencing supercapacitor design-in strategies and driving adoption in targeted applications. • Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap aligned with the needs of AI data centers, hyperscalers, and critical power infrastructure markets. • Drive specification and design-in wins by translating customer technical and commercial requirements into actionable opportunities. • Partner with engineering leadership to define future product requirements, performance targets, and portfolio expansion opportunities. • Establish business cases and market assessments for new product development initiatives. • Serve as Maxwell's subject matter expert on AI data center power architectures, energy storage systems, backup power technologies, and grid resiliency solutions. • Provide regular market intelligence and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. • Assess competitive offerings, technology disruptions, and emerging market opportunities. • Serve as a senior product and technology representative during customer engagements. • Develop market forecasts and demand projections that inform product investment decisions. • Assist in long-range strategic planning and portfolio management activities. • Track key market indicators and customer investment trends affecting future demand.

What we look for- Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems, or related technical field required. • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred. • 10+ years of experience in product management, product planning, strategic marketing, business development, or related leadership roles. • Demonstrated experience working directly with hyperscale data center customers and cloud service providers. • Strong understanding of data center electrical infrastructure, power generation, power distribution, energy storage, and backup power systems. • Experience developing product roadmaps and commercial strategies for technology-based products. • Proven ability to influence product development based on customer and market requirements. • Experience engaging with executive-level customer stakeholders. • Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate and structure growth opportunities.
