Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Join Beca's Applied Technology team and help deliver complex, mission-critical systems across defence, aviation, maritime, and other highly regulated sectors. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll work across software, hardware, people, and processes to develop solutions that solve real-world challenges. Based in Wellington, you'll contribute to projects spanning systems engineering, training systems, intelligence, security, communications, and information systems. Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, you'll apply a structured approach to deliver high-quality outcomes in dynamic environments. We're looking for someone who is process-driven, client-focused, and experienced working within contractual frameworks and performance measures. An interest or background in defence, aviation, intelligence, or military environments would be highly regarded.

• Experienced in supporting military operations and leading intelligence strategy, policy, functions and teams to deliver great results for clients. • Experienced in developing and delivering military training. • Focused on maintaining compliance with health and safety and security regulations. • Comfortable working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions, breaking down complex technical information into simple, easy-to-understand terms. • Passionate about understanding complex systems and delivering successful outcomes for clients. • Capable of navigating technical domains and tailoring communication styles to effectively connect with diverse audiences. • Proficient in simplifying complex and technical information, making it accessible to others. • Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture that values and celebrates diversity.
Important: The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an NZDF Defence Site Clearance or National Security Clearance. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position. Security and background checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process.
