Position Highlights Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and clinical supervision of staff; including participating in hiring, training, coaching, developing and monitoring of qualified staff. • Provides supervision in areas including: compliance, assessment, evaluation, and other clinical services. • Responsible for making rounds on patients and staff to ensure patient safety and satisfaction and collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care. • Participates in all assigned management, supervisory, staff and team meetings; attend in-service trainings and staff development activities as scheduled. • Performs specialized tasks/projects and other duties as assigned, i.e. Performance Board monthly updates, QAPI, Language of Caring training, budget preparation, etc. Participates in committees and serves as a liaison between department and providers. • Demonstrates professional practice, knowledge, and skills and utilizes nursing processes to provide for the needs of the patient. • Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU • Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period • Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care • Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients
Requirements:
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU/Critical Care nursing experience
• CCRN or ENPC certification preferred
• Previous leadership experience preferred • Active IA RN license • Must maintain required certification to include but not limited to; BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC - inhouse education available upon hire
Schedule:
• 72 hours a pay period • Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday Rotation • 12 hour shifts 6:30-7 • The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
