Job Description: Airbus Defence and Space / Aircraft Performance Engineer / Getafe (Madrid)
An opportunity for an Aircraft Performance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the Aircraft Performance team within the Flight Physics Centre of Competence (CoC). This German-Spanish organization is responsible for the flight physics deliverables for all Airbus Defence & Space fixed-wing Aircraft programmes. You will help shape the future of air power solutions while driving strategic targets such as digitalization, standardization, simplification, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Take accountability for aircraft performance activities contributing to current and future programs, R&D/T, certification processes, and negotiations with authorities.
• Evaluate the impact of aircraft and engine configuration changes on performance, supporting the design phase of new programs and derivatives.
• Carry out performance studies to support sales campaigns, RFPs, customer enquiries, and flight operations (tools, documentation, and in-service queries).
• Support flight data analysis activities for development, certification, training, and incident or accident investigations.
• Implement capability, technology, and digitalization roadmaps to ensure the harmonization and maintenance of tools and data management.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Aircraft Performance processes, ensuring the highest quality standards in technical dossier content and OTOCOQ delivery.

• Education: Minimum Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Aircraft Performance (development, flight test, and certification).
• Soft skills: Strategic thinker with an owner mentality, ability to work under pressure, passionate about continuous improvement, and highly customer-focused. Strong communication and conflict management skills. Willingness to travel as required.
• Languages: Negotiation level in English.
• Valuable / Nice to have: German and/or Spanish skills are preferred.
