Job Summary

Under the direction of the Tooling Supervisor, the Tool & Die Maker is responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and adjusting metal stamping dies to ensure production quality, efficiency, and compliance with customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring dies are operating at peak performance and production downtime is minimized.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling and die-related issues in a fast-paced production environment. • Perform die set operations and make tooling adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality. • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on metal stamping dies, including progressive and transfer dies. • Inspect tooling and finished components to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance die performance, efficiency, and reliability. • Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to quickly resolve tooling-related concerns. • Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures. • Complete all required Adient and customer-specific training programs. • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a sheet metal stamping manufacturing environment. • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of hands-on experience working with large progressive and transfer dies. • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds as required for tooling repair and maintenance activities. • Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods, including shifts of eight or more hours. • Must be able to work an off-shift schedule. The current schedule is 5:45 PM to 5:45 AM, Monday through Saturday. • The position is expected to transition to a 3-day-per-week schedule, and the team can provide flexibility and work with candidates on scheduling needs where possible.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool & Die Card issued by the Department of Labor. • Automotive manufacturing experience. • Experience supporting high-volume stamping operations. • Knowledge of die maintenance best practices and preventative maintenance programs. • Experience utilizing precision measuring instruments and reading technical drawings or blueprints.
